Finally – Back to Africa!

Early morning at PDX. Bags all checked, through security, and enjoying a breakfast sandwich and coffee. Great way to start a trip, ignoring the fact that it’s 5:30 am and I’ve been up since 3. No worries, though. How can I have an adventure without a little inconvenience!
So where am I going? To Senegal! I’ll be there for a month, helping with a ministry which trains girls and young women cooking and sewing skills to give them future opportunities. I am very excited to finally be at the going part, and especially to be back in Africa. It’s been four years – way too long.
The idea for this trip came up in June so I’ve been planning and waiting awhile. All good things …. First stop today is JFK and then our flight to Dakar. I’ll do my usual hunker down which is my way of handling long flights. And I’ll watch movies I wouldn’t dream of watching other times! And before you know it, we’ll be there!
Stay tuned for further adventures.
